I like both Antonio, but the first one with the sun on the surfboard is very special!

Daring Restaurant

The small thing on the bottom left is a restaurant.
Its wall facing the ocean is just a transparent
plastic sheet. So far so good…

Do I see a pier with a railing on the bottom left corner ? Good luck then...

Actually, I was almost fully against the light,
I was quite unsure of the result but it came out
better than I expected.

> the clouds and the gull--very nice

I would have loved to have it in front of the brightest part
of the cloud but it did not fly that way…

> the water doesn't look too cold... well spotted.

Well, in this moment of the year, I can assure you it still tightens
the veins… :)

Yes, you can even see, 1/6 from bottom, 1/4 from left,
what is used as a diving point at high tide when the ocean
is somewhat calmer.

Amazing series, Jul.  They are all very beautiful - the first is my most favorite!  Thanks for sharing and hope to see more!

Hello all, hope you're doing well. I'm back after a longer radio silence due to travels (from which I hope to be able to post some results later this week) and now have the wonderful joy of going through 25 pages of awesome film photography :D In the meantime, here's another flower macro from Gotland last year.

An interesting little read arguing that software is not the enemy of the analogue workflow when scanning replaces darkroom printing.

Thanks Steve. I'd have thought it just common sense that people would apply at least some sort of "processing" to scanned pictures, but there you go.

Morning light on the East River

Adox Color Implosion/toxic grain 🤷‍♂️

(This film makes me feel like a real analog junkie.  All I need now is a naked girl floating in the water and I can hang out with the best of the analog junkies 😂)

Fracture Red-Blue
M-A APO 50 & Thambar-M
E100

So, this started with the notion of a visual allegory for "fracture," and extending the metaphor to what a fracture implies, not simply the breaking of bone or rock strata. The fracture of society, language, relationships, systems. . . . The challenge to say this visually with two primary colors, the third fractured away, not present. Does fracture lead inevitably to erosion? Is repair implied? Just wondering?

So Vija Celmins, not Sugimoto, but totally TOXIC. Perhaps thankful ADOX didn't include the nomenclature: ATOMIC. Still got my Geiger counter, just in case.  No, I didn't say Gieger counter; that would be too alien and beyond sushi. I gotta get my Oliver Peoples sunglasses just to knock that knee-jerk squinting at this TOXIC waterscape. Still need to cast the floating girl, without the Oliver Peoples.

The backstory is so rich, begging for more, whatever you can recall, even little details of the moments. These diptychs are so lively, and the framing, so cinematic.

I posted the link to the article because I've heard one or two on here express the view that the scan should be final without any further manipulation in a software package. The equivalent darkroom technique would be to print without dodging, burning or deciding on the grade of paper.
