Last month I bought another Elmar 50/3.5. The previous one was nice and clean outside, but the lens were blurry and soft. This has slightly bent outer ring, but it seems to work pretty well. 

In-law on the coast, yet again.

At a guess, a long, long time. That appears to be an anchor chain attached ti it so I assume it was deliberately placed and used as a mooring.
