Lezlie Harrison, jazz singer at Smoke the other night .... all except for the last was taken with my 80mm R Summilux with a 2X APO extender ... last was with the lens alone ... film is portra 400 .... lights are tough on color film without a cooling filter, reason the last just looks better in black and white.

Your latest pictures from Smoke are wonderful, and this black&white conversion is absolutely top notch. You are transporting all the feelings and the mood, so that by looking at the picures a faint melody forms in my head and the singers voice is taking form in my imagination. Perfect!

Personally, i don’t like getting run over by taxis. But apparently some people quite fancy it!

NYC

Portra 400

I'm late to the party but don't want to miss howling with the wolves. That is an amazing picture with its dynamic, the drama, the richness of colors and the perfect composition. I guess it would need a staff of dozens of people to set up a scene like this intentionally. You, with your trained eye and the ever improving skills, managed it in the glimpse of a moment. Hats off!

Great tone scale and the scenery as well, Keith! I should give the combination Acros + Rodinal a try..

Thanks.  Dev'd at 1:50 for 13mins with 30secs slow reversals initially then 10secs every minute.  I am down to my last few rolls of Acros :(   Will probably revert to FP4Plus - or perhaps try Fomapan 100, which I have used for 120 (6x6 & 6x9cm).

looking at this again on my home computer and I really think this is my most favorite landscape that you have even taken.  So much going on and a true film aesthetic.

"Welcome To France" moment,  as I tell my grand-daughters, 😉

Gary

Phil, Gary, Keith, Marc, Steve, Philip, Edward, Joerg, James and everyone else, thanks for sharing my tickle on this one.  The back story will make you smile as I came on this crosswalk and saw a young man (in his early 20's) trying to pose his friend (the Asian woman)  in the middle of the crosswalk.  He had a film camera and so I decided to join in on the fun.  I walked in front of him and blasted my flash into the street and the guy said to me "I don't need a flash b/c I am shooting Cinestill 800."  I backslapped him and smiled and then went about my way.

A somewhat unsettling image, Philip!

Not at all mundane!  Interesting to see these results of 35mm film in the Fuji. I have a GW690II and recently read a DIY guide to the process.

One of your most unusual (verging on bizarre) yet Adam!

This is by far the coolest photo of your series! I am sure she is waiting for the Fedora man to be rescued!😉

I love PhotoShop too! * 😉

This is brilliant Adam. I was wondering how if ever you could possibly top the series, or whether you had already created your best. Not so, they seem to get better as a result of your trained eye.

* That's a lie, I actually loathe PS

Brilliant Wayne, just great.

This one made me do a double-take. I'm a big fan of bright lights. There's that cool '80s computer display thing going on here, sort of like Stefan's (S/W) photo from Hong Kong, contrasted against the powerful mountains in the background.

I agree with the others, this one is by far one of the best of your blizzard photos. It looks like she's about to get hit.

Eoin - WOWOWOW this is really great.  So much detail and a timeless look.  Amazing B&W rendition and I hope that you will do  more of this as it is really inspiring!

A study in verticals. Right down to the rising industrial steam way back there in the middle.
