Ruinism kicked off in the 18th century, a preoccupation with the ruins of buildings, sculpture, art, even literature and such, and we've been artistically intrigued with the history that ruins hold and how this plays on the imagination to reconstruct their former perfection. A "perfect" Southport sign would not have any of the intrigue of your ruin sign. Is it being ruined by weather, catastrophe, neglect, vandalism?--the dialogue draws us into the conversation, the play of imagination. Good show!
