Nailed it!  You made it look so much more classy that it really is today.  I took my son down there last winter at night time and we couldn't deal with the riff-raff and promptly left!

Pre-dawn morning glory over lower Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge.

This scene took every bit of the 9 cm-wide film plane with the ground glass, just squeezing in the left end of the Brooklyn Bridge and also the Freedom Tower.

And the hole in the Manhattan Bridge from where I took this two Sunday's ago at approx 5:15am was freshly cut by me

Linhof Technika Press 23, Zeiss Biogon 53mm and Ektar (6x9) (sharpness is so good that on the full res version you can read the green street signs on the far mid-right along the highway)

(A special shot out to my friend "Tri," who in his generous and friendly way offered to broker the purchase of a rare Linhof Technika Press 23 just like mine from a German eBay seller who did not want to ship to the USA.  The conditions weren't right to jump on the opportunity, but I really appreciate the thought!)

Thanks! It was late and surprisingly quiet at that moment but I know what you mean about the riff raff. This was the best of the 3 bracketed shots I took. I don't have the steadiest hand and all my photos are hand held, I seem to do OK down to 1/125, slower than that I really need to concentrate.

Thanks Henry, I will own a Summilux 50 some day soon, it is high on my wish list. I had an early copy in my possession for about a month and loved the look of it but could not justify keeping it at the time.

Did some rescanning this weekend and tried the EpsonScan software in comparison to Vuescan. Both have there problems, especially with Velvia. One thing I noticed in scanning negative film is that with EpsonScan I get a small vertical magenta streak at the same position on every scan. In some cases the EpsonScan produces the colors more convincingly and natural, while in other cases, as i.e. the white/blue Beetle I showed some pages before, it couldn't get the right balance. It is very puzzling and I will have to switch between EpsonScan and Vuescan and try to find the color mix that suits me best.  Luckily I don't need colorproof results for professional purposes

The next shot is a Velvia one in which EpsonScan did a good job imho:

I have scanned with Epson V700 all slides 24x36  Fuji or Kodak and all with Epson software (not Silverfast

furnished by Epson) with any problem.

I don't like to use another software than the software of a manufacturer.

Your picture is beautiful for color James. For me it's fine

Color is vivid and the contrast is good.

No vertical magenta in your picture above :)

Best

Your pictures are so good, so beautiful !!!

I thought it would be time for a Leica IIIf / Elmar 3.5 / (Tri-X 400) photo.

Shot last week-end, Fonds de Gras, South of Luxembourg. Develloped in HC110 .
