Doc, yes, it's confirmed. Apparently she has "vascular dementia" and not Alzheimer's. I guess they won't clean her veins out because they aren't quite plugged enough or she's too old, I'm not sure of the case. I guess in her case her brain isn't getting enough oxygen.

I sent you a MP

Ok...I just printed this and I am SO THRILLED!

This is a scan of a 5x7 that I just pulled from the developing drum

If I never take another picture again as long as I live this one was worth it. This is a picture that I took while I was visiting my mom for her 86th's birthday recently. For those who don't know, she's got dementia and has a pretty short memory, not a great attitude and is difficult. The woman on the left is my sister who takes care of her.

This was taken at a restaurant we went to while we were there. My sister and mom were sharing a soda and took a drink at the same time; it was a funny moment and I caught it with my Oly Trip.

I love the colors Porta 400 got me and I love the shot for what it represents; my mom in a good moment, my sister enjoying her and we all having a good time.

I'd be happy if this was my last print.

This sums up perfectly, for me at least, what it's all about - why photography means so much to us. Nothing else can put a moment, a fragment of memory, onto a tangible object as can photography. This - our print - will always remind us of those precious moments, as was this for rpavich, if we are "present" enough to take the shot. Yet other moments are better not photographed, or impossible to photograph. But moments like this will last because the picture was taken, in the very instant the moment occurred.

A wonderful shot and reminder to us all, rpavich, and thank you so much for sharing it with us. And let's hope it's FAR from your last print!

I was in humanitarian mission in VN in last september and I also notice that the country

is in full dryness specially in the south.

No water in fields despite locks and water reservoirs . It's really catastrophic for the country's poverty and poverty involve diseases !

"Global warming" , fake news ?

Since it's topical.

Americas Cup from yesteryear, when it was held in Auckland.

The viaduct basin was the hub if you like for the racing.

Not sure of the film, the numbering and identification didn't mean much to me.

Likely Fuji or Ektachrome, and possibly with the Contax AX.

And two of the teams, if I recall correctly, we raced Luna Rossa in the final.

Same details as above.

Seems to me Henry you should still sell your digital stuff. C'mon be brave.

I continue to keep my digit cameras just to compare film and digital.I don't need money and I'll

sell them. For your information, I also tried for 1 month a Fuji XPro ,

http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Doc+Henry/?g2_page=7

and Nikon D800

http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Doc+Henry/?g2_page=10

So you know now what I said about digital , I have make some tests with 2 another

digital cameras , apart from Leica

Sincerily  if you still have some doubt ,you can return to shoot digital .... or like me just shoot

and compare with film and you'll see .

No Philip it's better I don't sell , when I see M8 price sold at 800E bought new and M9 price

less than 2000 E

I prefer keep them and use occasionaly .... as smartphone

... and I continue to compare film vs digital untill the day Leica will release a real camera

with a sensor similar to film :D

There are times when choosing a developer to complement the subject plays it's part in the outcome.  I use APH09 (aka 'Rodinal') sparingly, ie, seldom, but it's sharp and gritty and I like it for that. This bottle was first opened at least 12 months ago and I'm thinking APH09 benefits from being allowed to breathe a little. Like an early Beaujolais or a pint of Broadside.

The climb down to a rock ledge allowed me to breathe a little, too.  So did the climb back up!

Fuji GSW690iii

Fuji Acros 100 in APH09 1:50

Heliopan O22

Outstanding  photograph.

1. The composition is excellent. Are those two tiny objects about 1/4 in, from right, people?

2. The GSW690III is a true standout. It has me thinking about selling off all of my Hasselblad gear and using the funds for a 4x5, or larger, format rig.

3. I read that the Across film is more reliable than other B&W films in at low light performance, i.e. true to metering results. Do you find that to be true?

Thanks again,

Wayne

Rodinal also tastes better than the bottle of chianti we opened last night. :(
