Wow, Philip, I very much look forward to Rog's take on these.  :)  Very interest color schemes!  Any storyline behind these? ;)

For some strange reason, I am drawn to these force fields of color and my hands are shaking inexplicably, undoubtedly due to the triangulation of ley lines in this hemisphere! The Winsor Newton Manganese Blue, Cad Orange 089, Yellow Ochre 136, Teal (mixed Cerulean Blue and Phthalo Green, touch of Viridian)--and I haven't had lunch or Starbucks, yet. Thanks, Philip, for an energetic diptych!

Cheers,
Rog

Thanks. Well, I know the result in nowhere near as good, but at least I know my composition is heading in the right direction. You are an inspiring, Phil.

Best,

Wayne

Thank you so much Wayne, though I totally disagree that the results differ in any way in terms of being good. And it is you who inspires me and I'm sure so many of us here, Wayne.

Love this one, Rog.  Not just b/c I grew up in Texas but because who is named "Dottie" these days! :)

Very funny, Edward :)

ha ha ha ha........no 😁

Wow, this is really stunning, Phil.  This looks so much like Velvia 50 with its punchy vibrance.  Is it an older formula of Ektar?

This is the current (as far as I am aware) Ektar - not the one back when they also had the Ektar 25 (which would be great to resurrect, Kodak, if you're listening). I now have a computer that can handle 64-bit RGBI scans, and processing through LAB color really brings out the bite in this film.

Perfect combination of the colors!

Thanks so much, Marc. The old orange and teal (well, nearly teal!) is hard to beat!

This is unutterably brilliant, Steve - not only HC-B, but also Mary Ellen Mark:

What a wonderful pair (um eh :D ) when seen together. So much to like with each one. The brilliant saturated clarity of Phil's, the muted colours and grain of Wayne's and the careful composition of both. Just great. I'd really like to see Rog's abstract take on these scenes.

Wow Steve, HCB has NOTHING on you.

Thank you Philip!

Here's one from a crisp cold morning with the Tmax 100 and an orange filter.

Adam, this hits home clearly - the colourful disarray of your blizzard and "fedora man" series, juxtaposed to the quiet serenity of these panoramas and scapes - all masterful, all vibrant in their own way. You are compiling an awesome body of work!

Rog, you've donned the beret, loaded the palette with all of the colours they had in the art supply store, taken your voluminous knowledge of all things art and culture, and continue to inspire with such great combinations - as well as illuminate us on what is great about the subjects Philip so beautifully photographed at the gallery. Thank you so much!

This is a truly spectacular photograph. I smiled when I read of what camera. While the zone focus compacts, e.g. Rollei 35 and Zeiss Taxona, are sometimes criticized for requiring zone focus, when light is adequate to stop down to f11, f16, there is a spontaneity of  use that few cameras can surpass. This is a real prize. Congratulations. I bet there is nothing HCB would have liked better than to have another photographer, missing the shot, in the frame. :) I am staring at my taxona, staring back at me, on the bookshelf. Guess what's going in my jacket pocket tomorrow.

Best,

Wayne

I'm left wondering whether the photographer was in fact a real world spy. This image has a sort of covert feel to it, like the agent was sent out to locate the headquarters of a foreign secret police.

Using the power of imaginations, the mother figure seen in other shots could easily be a decoy, a sort of facade to evade capture.

Loving these, more please.

PS I wonder where the picture was taken and in what time period. And why use a 'spy' camera if not for the purpose of spying?
