Like something from a sci-fi film!

Getting maintenance done last week, and fortunate to see this newly refurbish/rebuilt piece of history flying.

Leicaflex SL with 90 Summicron, I wish I had a 135 or 180mm instead.

Vista 200

Presumably the newly rebuilt/refurbished NZ one, Gary?  I think that makes three airworthy Mosquitoes (globally) now.  The sound of two Merlins - long time since I experienced that!

I reckon the NY City-fathers had you in mind when the aligned the grid-pattern... ;)

Love those bright streets, Edward.  And the colors look a lot like Portra 400.  I guess some of the added warmth goes away on really bright days.  Overall great results.  Welcome back!

Got to honest in not really going gaga over old planes, but this was special, and yes the sound of the two Merlins raised the hairs a bit, few left on my head and the rest in other places. They were off for a photo shoot with an old Harvard. The KittyHawk was parked close by. At the same airfield (yet more maintenance) yesterday and the resident Spitfire taxied past and took off. Beautiful sights and sounds.

Ha ha, Keith.  You think they had schmootz back then? 😷

Yes they did, but it was all in the streets  🙂

While I'm on our annual skiing and snowboarding trip to the Austrian alps I'm stunned by the quality of the pictures submitted. I surely will bring my usual snapshots later on - but the more I see here, the less I'm convinced I could give an appropriate answer to your sublime contributions.

I'm sure, you will give us an appropriate answer, James.

Who in their right mind uses M/F for this sort of shot?

Someone as bored as I was, and who wanted to at least try the new-to-me lens.

503CXi Variogon C 140-280.

Portra 400.

Another great find from those minox sleeves, Wayne - this really did prove to be a happy hunting ground! Geographically we can now narrow our search to: Brazil! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VASP Maybe Jean-Marc can add some perspective to this?

Again the photographer is showing good composition by including the steps in the foreground. And of course the tatty frame edge adds to this, it's so in keeping.

We can each make our own story here. I'm wondering if that's a spy disembarking, the nonchalant sort of spy.

I just like the idea of living in a time when boarding an aircraft was no different than getting on a bus.

At any rate, the culprits have very little chance of getting away.  DCI Phil is on the job. :)

Best,

Wayne

Totally clandestine in overcast daylight. When an agent sees flowers, he's looking for the funeral. There are no flowers around this trampled dirt tarmac, so it's safe for the next four minutes, one can gamble.
