Late evening at the old wharfs ("Bryggen") in downtown Bergen, Norway. Mamiya 7 w/43mm, Fuji Provia 100 F. Composite of two images (to get more people into the scene).

Fabulous photo with gorgeous saturated colour without being underexposed.

Truly awesome Rog. The just a tiny bit off-horizontal middle line completely messes with the mind, as do the shadows on the rectangles. I'd love to have this one on a wall.

Thanks, Philip. I could excuse the "bit off-horizontal middle line" by saying my sense of gravity had been thrown out of whack by the centrifuge tests I volunteered to take as a First Man stand-in for Ryan Gosling, but that would be sheer fantasy, not that I don't suffer that from time to time between gulps of Starbucks. Yes, the polygraph registers your absolute truth, not just a tiny bit. Thanks for the tip off, much appreciated.  I recalibrated my horizontal +0.5--so now, if I can convince HAL to open the pod bay door, I'll be set.

Cheers,
Rog

I'm sure at least one "rule" of composition was broken here. That's what I love about it.

I wonder, is the tree photbombing the doorway or the other way around?

Matt

Thanks Matt,

I'm not sure, too :)

Very good Helge. That is a fabulous part of Berge. It looks a bit like HDR. Is that a result of the overlay or the post-processing?

Haha then we would read about you in 3001 :) I actually prefer the previous version. Something to do with that old adage that there needs to be imperfection in beauty for it to exist. But this is also nice, of course. The palette is sublime.
