I also take this picture in black and white with Kodak TX400 and  with my Leica MP - 50 Summilux lens.

As a purist and for Chrism I don't like to convert color in b&w because you lose details in the shadows

that's why I have always two cameras one with b&w film and one with color film.

For comparison I post "again" the color version. You like both version , b&w version or color version ?

Best

Henry

Henry,

I’d go with the colour here. I think the B&W would have benefitted from an orange filter, adding contrast and drama.

White on White...

... is the domain of film, imho.

i like the b&w more...especially the low contrast misty feeling in the sky at the horizon, goes well with the higher contrast field...and its rare to see an empty infinity zone these days :)

I'll venture a guess, and Antonio will no doubt confirm or not. Alberobello, in Puglia, south Italy.

A magical place, we visited in 2015, and truly (no pun here) loved it.

Well worth a week or more, two would be better.

Sue and I will hopefully off to Italy next year - our niece and her husband own and run a hostel in Cinqueterre - and would love to visit the south, so any recommendations like this are gold - thanks Gary. Antonio's neighbourhood looks incredible.

Yes, that is Alberobello. A nice short trip from my place.

I have a confession: I've never visited the Cinque Terre!  I didn't even know they were so famous abroad until I went to the US for work ... 😆

More Italy.

Squero di San Trovaso, the gondola boatyard. Magical place, possibly by-passed by the hordes.

I am very unapologetically becoming a "one trick pony" with my pano format.  😂  There are just so many vantage points that have been building up and now I finally have a way to capture them.   I love how Ektar handles the blue gases in the atmosphere on a cloudy morning.
