Nice dog.

I've shared mine already in here. He's often a good subject to finish a roll ...

Simply stunning, Marc.  The is so much going on in her face.  Composition galore.  Congrats!

Glad you like it Adam! Thanks a lot!

She's channeling Lauren Bacall, and behind those Oliver Peoples shades are stories that are so opaque, the names are missing so many letters, identities can't be read any longer. She's supposed to meet a guy who calls himself Canino, but she knows he's a liar with a camera. "Pictures don't lie," he says. She says it's not her reality. It's so two-dimensional with nothing that matters. It's all window dressing. They're all like mannequins in windows wearing make-believe clothing they don't own.  She says she wants something real, something she can own, and she knows it's not going to be that flimsy line from Canino who smokes too much and rehearses lines from The Big Sleep. She's not buying any of it. She'll meet the guy at the Formosa Café. She always trusted the traffic on Santa Monica Boulevard because it kept moving. As long as it keeps moving, it has life. Yeah, she'll meet Canino at the Formosa, but she'll pick up her own tab because this is Hollywood, and that's what a girl does. Keeps her head down and picks up her own tab.

Marc, when are you going to get into triptychs and work the cinema of it?

Cut and print,
Rog

Your words are much appreciated!!! I like your triptychs a lot and very often I am so surprised about the results and the originality of your constructs! To be honest I could never create this!

BTW it's "Self-Exposure" not "Overexposure" although I think the latter would be a better title for him, given his technique.

My bad! I can usually plead temporary insanity and get away with it, but here, I was reading Ralph Gibson’s Overtones and was simply overwhelmed,  perhaps myself suffering a bit of overexposure.  Overtones, Refractions: Thoughts on Aesthetics and Photography, and now Self-Exposure all have very lucid discussions that pertain to diptychs and fragmentation.  To begin, turn to page 360 in Gibson’s autobiography and read “Notes Sur la Photographie.”

“A good photographer is sensitive to that which the eye cannot see.”

Cut and print, 🎬 Roger

Thanks for prompting such invigorating dialogue that gets us all to thinking.
