Hello Pax,

Welcome to the Forum.

Could this statue be famous because a lot of people like pie?

Best Regards,

Michael

My first exposure of the morning yesterday was for Rog. :)

It was a cinematic dawn over the greatest city on earth.

The Ektar was called upon to meet the match of Mother Nature.

Ektar triumphed. 😉

Adam, is it just me or is that glorious panorama out of focus?

it most certainly is - and deliberately and bokeliciously so.  :)

My next exposure was in focus 😉

Playing tricks with these ageing eyes, eh! It's a lovely vantage point you've chosen - and that Ektar color is sublime!

Thanks, Phil.  I think it will be a good addition to my bokeh skyline collection :)

No, it's Bird Girl 🙂

...a opposed to Bat Man, Cat Woman, etc...

No it really is Bird Girl, by Judson in the early 20th century.
I'd like this bronze statue in my back garden!

Kenneth Anger Proof

M-A Thambar-M CS
ADOX Color Implosion

Nikon F Nikkor 85mm
Kodak ECN-2 RGB
Kenneth Anger 1976

Just pulled this out of my morgue for scanning; not Anger, of course, Phil will be relieved to know. Ever the showman, Anger certainly enjoyed posing in the lobby of a small theatre on Melrose Avenue in Hollywood where he was screening some of his films.

It's a funny thing, Rog. When you used the term "morgue" I wondered if it was a typo (OK unlikely) or whether there was some definition of the word I didn't know about. Looking up the online dictionaries (as you do) I found that the English-style dictionaries (which in Australia we are probably more accustomed to using since school days - at least some of us who went to school in the dinosaur era) tend to just carry the "dead body storage" scenario whereas the American dictionaries (Merriam Webster etc) carry that meaning plus the "newspaper clippings" definition. I guess it's a cultural thing.

Nice shots, too, from the morgue (new word for me so I'm going to flaunt it) of Kenneth Anger. I was somewhat familiar with the name but found him to be an interesting character when I read more about him. Obviously he had a huge influence on many later people whom I greatly admire, such as David Lynch and Martin Scorsese, and it seems he may have been a key influence on Jagger and Richard leading to the writing of "Sympathy for the Devil", off one of my favourite ever albums, Beggars Banquet (the recording of which Godard made a film about).

BTW I particularly like Albers Deconstructed Polyptych - the proportions are inspired - and am excited to see the new Ektachrome being put to such excellent use.
