Did you process and scan yourself? If so, what scanner did you use? That is great detail. I prob won't get that level of detail with 35mm film right?

i haven't gotten to experiment enough yet.

Your attention to the background in your photographs is notable, whether in color or black-and-white. This one, for instance, is a classic Vermeer composition with the subject facing toward window light, and yet, there is attention to the out of focus background on the left of the frame, which sets the model in the foreground in relief. You might want to take a look at Gerhard Richter’s portrait “Betty” to see what you can do without showing the subject face.

Thank you very much Ernest! Lie always I really appreciate your profound comments. Yes you are right, in some paintings from Vermeer there is really a very beautiful light composition, also in one of my favorites, "girl with the flute". I did not know the incredible work "Betty", it is really amazing, looks so real!

I'm really loving this adventure into film. The look of film is so appealing.  Velvia probably isn't the right choice for a portrait but what the hey!

A beautiful portrait, indeed!  Wouldn't have ever guessed that this Velvia - wow.

Wow! Floats my boat! Abstract Realism at its best: real and abstract, simultaneously. With your “Yellow Thing” photograph and the Pollock “Hire Lot” that are on auto-replay, this “Boat Detail, Mordialloc” argues  persuasively for painterly DNA. This has a decidedly Gerhard Richter sense of nerve. Can’t wait to see more of the gallery in your morgue.

Cheers, Rog 🎬

In my morgue? I hope not! Not for a long while anyway!

Thank you Rog for your, as usual, astute observations. The thing that struck me just a little when I reviewed this picture tonight was that the general shape and colors sort of made me think of the American flag. A bit of a stretch, I know.

I like your clapperboard signature!

Unfortunately, for the purposes of your mystery, a quick search of google found it. I won't spoil it for others - I really like the picture you took of her though!
