I like film...(open thread)

You have David Hemmings' Nikon F from Blow Up? This is a cultural artifact the like of which is inconceivable! What an incredible score! It must be used! We must quickly assemble a team from the I Like Film thread and descend on London - to Maryon Park no less - and pay homage to this wondrous film. And, apropos to all that, bring that propeller prop you have propped appropriately in your office!

I looked up Simon Doonan - you can't fail to respect someone with such a theatrical sense of the irreverent.

"And, apropos to all that, bring that propeller prop you have propped appropriately in your office!" You are the awesome "Archduke of Alliteration," to be justly lauded for the alliterative lay of your linguistic landscape. There you go with that wink-wink, nudge-nudge. Too funny. Yes, synchronize our watches for a night raid on Maryon Park. I'll play the body by the tree--fewer lines to memorize, and I think I can get the blocking down so it won't waste film on more than one take. You are the only one I know who's visited Maryon Park. You think there's enough in the budget for a Land Rover and a mime troupe?

Ah but WAS there a body by the tree? We might be entering a Beckett-like twilight zone of shadows here.

Not sure about the budget for the land rover - the Rolls is already costing plenty. And all that shredded background paper needs replacing. I'll definitely stump up for a game of mime tennis though!

I shouldn't really admit this but I nicked a little wooden fence post from there - to be fair, it was broken and lying on the ground - and have convinced myself it survived from the 60s and appears somewhere in one of the park scenes. Not quite like having the Nikon (or the Rolls) but, hey, I'll take it.

I found this pretty interesting:

Oh bollocks! He has a digital camera. Edited by stray cat

This is very interesting Rog. The different textures add a cool extra dimension.

Gosh, now I have to watch Blow-up again. I watched L'Avventura last week for the first time and though it was great.

Can I join the mime troupe?

Now that's a film we don't see often. Excellent picture.

I like this a lot, from the composition to the nice tones in the shadows.

Now that's some real Summitar magic. My favourite LTM lens.
