I agree with Ken, Rog - this is very inventive and creative. Do you know the work of John Pfahl? He was active in the 1970s and created tableaux whereby human intervention would reflect on and kind of extrapolate from nature. Your work is different to this but there is a rough kind of antecedent quality there: https://www.icp.org/browse/archive/constituents/john-pfahl?all/all/all/all/0

Thanks big time for the cool link and another chapter from the Wright Resource Center. Pfahl was certainly off my radar, and I see your chalk marks mapping an interesting approach to landscape as signifier. Pfahl calls up Duerer's woodcut illustration of perspective and also 17th-century Dutch camera obscura plans. Oh, my, the patient industry of laying out string, wire, or whatever as added notations in a landscape or architectural photograph! Reminds me of Vija Celmins graphic drawing of the ocean with a faintly discernible X through the middle of it.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant blur bolstered with boulevard bravado. Absolutely independent cinema. Just makes my day.

Aryel I've been thoroughly enjoying your pictures from prints. You've identified the printing-in of borders (or should I say "Bordères " 😂) as your own recognizable signature. I for one am a huge fan and I can only imagine the prints look sumptuous framed and hung.

For this one, the credit should go to Malvarrosa, I haven’t printed it yet 🙈. They have an option to scan with borders that I really like because they look very similar to how I like printing them.

Thanks a lot for the kind comments! Apologise for the confusion.

It doesn't take much to confuse me, Aryel. Someone once gave me a piece of paper with "PTO" (Please Turn Over) written on both sides and it took me a couple of hours of turning it over and over before I realized I'd been tricked.

Obviously Malvarrosa is a good lab!
