He looks like a guy who is pretty confident in his philosphy. Very good portrait. Take his specs off and he sort of reminds me of portraits of Lincoln made during American civil war.

Best,

Wayne

One of the best portraits I have ever seen here in the LFI! I like his direct eye contact. Is it self-confidence, arrogance, tranquilness, contempt, modesty…… I really don‘t know, so much room for interpretations……

Here a picture of my Rolleicord (made with a digital camera - sorry). I ordered some new fancy leather for it - I think the camera deserves new clothes, even if it will live a shelf life rather than being an everyday photographers tool...

Another picture from today's walk. I still have to figure out where this light leak came from. I will try to seal the camera with some wool thread at two points of the back door and see if this is enough. Another thing a explored was the fact that it is not necessary to check through the red window at the bottom after every winding - this way I only got eight shots out of 12 as the numbers didn't match the frame counter...

Yes he simply stared at me and his resolve and clarity were unmistakable. This was in the first days of the invasion by Russia, and I am sure he went back and was throwing grenades from hillsides along with his people. They must be respected for their determination.

Thanks Wayne.

Yes personally I like direct, clear portraits, without inferences or suggestive poses (unless it's for more corporate or illustrative uses). Let the viewer experience the presence of the subject themselves. I found the Afghan people I met very direct and unshakeable, even the children.

Thanks Benqui!

Two consecutive frames - 14A and 15A - from 35 years ago. Or "how Phil worked the scene" because then, according to the negative strip, I moved on.

I wonder if they still plow like this in parts of Portugal (this is in the south, just above the Algarve):

portugal 1986

canon, fp4

Really like these Phil !

That's a great price, I'll do some hunting, but as you say Orwo itself doesn't do anything (I wish they would!). When I shoot it, I also use Rodinal 1:50.

Great portrait Charles… Klementasky himself wouldn’t have done it better!
