It happens all too rarely, but sometimes - occasionally - things come together better than you hoped and you are there with a camera, the right lens, and you get one of those elusive photos that help you understand what you love about photography:

rise, rosebud 2021 (please click on image for a better view)

m6ttl, 90mm summicron, agfa vista 400

And the reason it happens, you had the eye to see it, and the camera with you, all adding up to success. Very nice.

Ah that wonderful giddy feeling when your muse deigns to rest on your shoulder and says "shoot". A fabulous photo indeed and hope she visits you soon again.

One from the morgue. This was taken through a flywire screen which explains the texture:

pension roma, cairo 1987

canon F1, fdn 35mm f2, ilford fp4

HCB must be hidden behind the geometry of the windows.  The screen gives it the rendition of an 30's uncoated lens.  It's all yours and a really good one.

Cine500T with a polarizer, and OM4 and 28/2. Not sure where the "line" came from on the yellow cherry pickers, might have been my processing.

I have always loved the effect of shooting through a screen. It is nice to see it done with your usual excellent subject, exposure, and composition selection.

Best,

Wayne

I think the vertical band in the sky of the first one a has something to do with using a pola filter with a wide angle, even with a 35 the result is sometime peculiar when there is a large expanse of sky.  I like the colors rendition from this film,

M2, TTArtisan 1.4/35 ASPH, Fuji Superia somewhat under-exposed through an ND8 filter (hence the grain but maybe adds to the pastel effect).
