The bar and restaurant of the "Funkhaus" hold a very central place in the cultural life of Cologne. The building dates back to the early fifties of last century. The decoration and the furniture are original or restored fifties.   There is a small chapter about the history https://www.funkhaus-koeln.de/index_en.html#geschichte

M7; 2,8/24 asph; Portra 400.

Love this composition, the colours, the sweep of the art work and the guests tucked in the corner.

Another of my scanned slides from the 50s. My parents (mother in red, father without tie to her right) at a Paris cafe around 1955. Leica M3, 50mm Summicron. The writing on the slide says Agfa but I am not sure. Colors look like Kodachrome to me. I love looking at his slides from this time period. Almost all the men wore coat and tie almost everywhere. My father was very "fashion forward" and occasionally wore no tie. Very refined period in many ways I think.

Turning back the clock to dignified times (me thinks). So much interest in this great photo.

Hard to resist the graphic attraction of these monuments. Well done, Thomas.

Rog, embarking on your pieces is alway a journey with an open end. I love the suggestions you make as an entry, then surfing along the many connotations that may arise,  I'm  thrown in   a sea ( see ? 😁) of uncertain return. In this case,  " Splash " generates 9 different meanings in my reference...Not in this reference is the perhaps most important one: of course David Hockney´s "The Splash"  But no pale californian blue or  frolicking here, but a red of the quality that smells of blood. ... Rog, you once wrote in a commentary some thousand pages earlier, that the artist doesn't need to get explicit, the art will tell anyway. I think I got you.

Worthwhile to show even without the tech details...

Thank you, it is one I cherish.

You are not supposed to feed the Dartmoor Ponies, but the people who do tend to go no further than 10 meters from their cars, so the ponies hang around by roads, with tragic consequences. The gray pony was expecting a snack and getting ever closer while the black one nipped him hard twice, the second one prompting the eye swivel, which made the photo (and stopped them getting too close). They are semi wild, live in all weathers on the moors but are brought in for checks at least once a year, and for ponies to be sold, to keep numbers down.

Lovely picture. I really like that you see the fantastic surroundings together with the horses. :))
