what is the other gentleman loading film into ?

I was wondering the same thing. My father also had a Leica IIIG (which I still have) but that doesn't look like it. In other pictures that this gentleman is in, there are a couple of cameras. One is what I think is a Zeiss camera (folding Exona I think) and another smaller camera which I can't make out.

Another of my scanned slides from the 50s. My parents (mother in red, father without tie to her right) at a Paris cafe around 1955. Leica M3, 50mm Summicron. The writing on the slide says Agfa but I am not sure. Colors look like Kodachrome to me. I love looking at his slides from this time period. Almost all the men wore coat and tie almost everywhere. My father was very "fashion forward" and occasionally wore no tie. Very refined period in many ways I think.

Rog, intriguing. The balancing of the upper green plane on the edge of the light blue support... a bit out of balance though, but you show the direction by naming it "Scalene" . Who of us wouldn't know of the never ending work the "scaleni" do for us. Where is my Yoga mat ?  Well, you triggered me. Again.     Btw: could we call it Scalene, homage to Jawlensky ?

So astute! Always been a fan of Der Blaue Reiter,  but I wasn't thinking of Jawlensky, though this palette is right down his alley. I was purposely working with these values, playing with the push and pull of colors reduced to a flat field of simple geometry. I discarded this one two months ago, and came back to it just because of the colors, in spite of the stucco. You're right about the Yoga; this is still a contemplation piece with these shapes and colors, slightly off balance, as you say.
