...and here was I thinking Saul Leiter had departed this mortal coil. Astounding work jonnyboy and a striking homage to the master.

Just a thought... taking just the images from this page - from Slider to 2 Poles it strikes me that the sequence could comprise part of the storyboard to a newly discovered Hitchcock masterpiece. Is it just me?

We'll tap Bernard Hermann for the film score, and that will lock in the suspense/fright factor. Forgive the notes of the macabre, but do I detect dried blood on the track of Slider?

Yes! Perfect, Ken. Kind of the perfect transitional shot between the girl on the spiral staircase to that foreboding, body-harboring lake. To quote Elvis Costello: "She's filing her nails while they're dragging the lake". Dammit but now I want to shoehorn in the polar bear somehow, too...

Wouldn't there also be a scene in that film whereby the protagonist is fleeing in panic across the deserted landscape? Here's my quadruple take of that part... (from the viewpoint of the protagonist I might add)

A definite inclusion into our newly-discovered and restored Hitchcock masterpiece! The long shot wherein perhaps he's suggesting some kind of dishevelled or disoriented  mind... Exquisite colours though!

There is a surreal feeling to this lovely photo and if it were not for the interruption at the top of the flight I would tumble down.
