I had one, and sold it, was just thinking about it again and it’s one I should have kept !

The lens, not the dog.

Given the flare issue, my next experiment is going to be shooting a roll of Tri-X at 1600; try it in pretty low light conditions. My initial impression is its major attribute- and I think it is actually wider than 28- is DOF: it does not seem to matter whether it is set at F8 or higher, everything is in decent focus.

Best,

Wayne

Contax II, CZJ 28/8 (Black one, original for Contax I) Kodak Tri-X exposed at ISO 100.

It is at the same time a wonderful and frustrating lens. Un-coated so flare and contrast are problematic....worst flare problem of any lens I have used. Front element allows rotation until the element is completely screwed off the lens body, although closest focus is marked at one meter, I am finding it possible, through guesswork (I was guessing here but DOF saved me,) to use much closer. It may even be possible to use as a macro. Depth of field is incredible. In its day, it must have been a true wonder to the photography world.

Could it be the lens needs cleaning ?  just thinking....since the front element is loose already.....

btw: do I have to imagine the photographer lying on his belly ? Or does the Contax have this famous wlf... ?

These two are exceptional Rog. I really like the direction you're taking your constructs. They're becoming more and more painterly somehow. Very inspiring stuff.

Opaque. Steel, stucco, cement, and canvas.

Lovely vintage feel to this one.

Zoey, head of SEIFCO (Southeaster Indiana Female Canine Organization) declares vertical fire hydrants a "dead end." Zoey: "It is deplorable. One of the greatest joys of canine life, wetting a fire hydrant, is denied to half of the canine world." Calls on sisters for action:...."possibly more "accidents" in the homes?, until something is done to retrofit hydrants to horizontal positiion." Points paw at Trump.

Oh keep the distance! But if you had you wouldn't have had this great photo :D

I purchased the lens from one of the better known Zeiss authorities in U.S.; he assured me the lens is clean. He also mentioned that there is a phenomenon associated with oxidization of lens surface glass. Not much can be done with the oxidized surface. Lens does appear to be clean. In fact, when I examined the lens, upon receipt, I was able to see nothing other than clear glass.

I was on my knees behind the camera. The wide angle offers much in the way of rewarding laziness. :)

einfach nur großartig, stefan!!

Staffelung, Ruhe/Unruhe, Farben, Tonwerte, alles pefekt!

upps, sorry, I've just roecognized that it's posted in the english part of LUF:

Marvellous picture, fantastic colours, depth and mood. It's an impulse for me to take my IIIf too again to make some PortraShots with it.

I believe, sometimes, the quality of the moment supersedes consideration of any and all other things related to a photograph.

Her enthusiasm was waning, but I chose to ignore it; in consequence, It was I who got to "fetch" my last throw down the hill.......while she watched from the top of the hill.

This absurd moment brought to you by Minox Riga, 15/3.5 Minostigmat, Agfa Copex microfilm.
