Lovely exposure and perfect framing James. I agree, I was surprised that the thread had disappeared and I was locked out. Ghosts in the machine no doubt.

So good to find this thread back in good order :) I was a bit irritated this afternoon, when I found out, that the thread disappeared...

After my color pictures now back to black (& white) - Hamburg, seen in Wismar:

I love the palette on this one Rog. And it reminds me of the In & Out club in London that I occasionally frequent, well when in London that is.

This is such a poetic photo Phil. I really like that you included the rocks at right as they draw the eye from the abstract to the concrete, from the bright to the dark.

This gets a wow from me Wayne. I've never seen a hummingbird in real life but they must be spectacular animals. This photo has more than only that though. I'm struck by the various lines, from the beak to the wire to the plants at right and then by how the wings mimic the shape of the metal leaf and the leaves on the plants. Then finally the obvious, how you've caught the bird so perfectly as a real-life example of the ornament. Simply great.

F2, Nikkor-P 105/2.5, Foma 200,

Very nice. You are giving our resident environmental portrait supremo Pritam a run for his money here. If I may be so bold to suggest that you should probably crop out the edges to strengthen the composition on your interesting photos.

Who ever said that bokeh cannot be a useful feature of a great photo was very wrong. Very well executed I think.

Both are very good Antonio. What usually strikes me about church photos is that they tend to be like yours are, looking up. I'm sure there was a reason for churches to be built tall so that the flock would have to look up to the heavens to see the cross and feel the awe. Or something like that.

At least this would seem to be a pretty safe, if uncomfy, way to do it these days too :D

As much as these "kodachromes" are in themselves great photographs, their depiction of traditional hand craft make them valuable documents and honoring the skill of the boat builders.

Some of the most spectacular mountain landscapes in the world are in South America.

Here is a slide image that I took in 1989 while in Patagonia.

LeicaFlex SL2 - 180mm. Apo-Telyt f/8.0 on Velvia 50 colour slide film. Scanned today on a Nikon Coolscan 8000ED with Vuescan.
