Chestnut seller – Souzhou, China. Sometimes called the Venice of the East because of its canals, Souzhou is well worth a visit if you are in the Shanghai area. We took a fast train (300kms/hr) for a day trip. XP2

.... touristic shots. Here comes just one as an example - some enthusiast with an analog movie camera on Brick Lane in London East End :)

Hi James,

silly times :) when the best known BOLEX movie film camera once dominating the 16mm amateur film scene worldwide, today is worth to take sightseeing snapshots from.

I have been in Florence a couple of years ago. There my last 100ft rolls of K-25 ran through my own BOLEX H8 DoubleSuper8 (looks like the 16mm Model above) and also a lot of other tourists took some shots and looked at me and my camera as we came from another world.

Thank you for sharing the shot

Best regards from Northern Germany

Wolfgang

So, Wayne, you were taking photos with this Minox back in 1926?

BTW "Security" could just about become your signature shot - it is so quintessentially "Wayne".

Thanks for the comment. Sometimes it is like that around here. I can't complain.

Then again.........I thought the sky looked wonderful so I went down to the Ohio to take a shot of one of my favorite spots; found, instead of a beautiful, old stand of trees, an opportunity to include a modern RV (recreational vehicle) in my shot. Not long ago I read a short piece on the value of "just shooting:" things change and are lost forever; only the camera can save them.

Thank you for these additional informations about the BOLEX camera. As I never used movie cameras, I had no idea that this is such a widely known model. At the spot where I took this picture is a shop specialized in the making of analog movies - I suggest you should visit it if you have the opportunity to visit London.
