Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted December 7, 2017 Share #43503 Posted December 7, 2017 Neil, I find scenes like this very challenging. I often go into a waterfall setting like this and find the same - just too much going on to distract from the flow of the waterfall. I have a fascination for waterfalls but in reality ive never had much success shooting them............I will keep trying though Neil
Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted December 7, 2017 Share #43504 Posted December 7, 2017 Yesterday I picked a pretty beat up but still working Bronica ETRs body with few lenses for cheap 'ish. Fun little camera. Here with its 75mm 2.8 and FujiAcros film. Looks like a Noctilux shot

A miller Posted December 7, 2017 Share #43506 Posted December 7, 2017 Another shot in Portrait mode I think I like this one better, Neil. For two reasons: more reflections which left me just a bit wanting in the first photo you posted. Second, The sky is somewhat blank and there is less of it in this photo! Wayne Posted December 8, 2017 Share #43510 Posted December 8, 2017 Was mostly concerned with getting the small tree. Wind up being a bit amazed at how well the camera/lens/film handled the shadows. philipus Posted December 8, 2017 Share #43511 Posted December 8, 2017 Gaaah, don't ever buy that terrible dog of a lens, the 35 Summilux FLE. It flares like nothing on the planet. I'm happy I got rid of it Perhaps this is an idea for a theme - Bad Flares and Ghosts or something. The Baltic Sea contre-jour Flickr
gbealnz Posted December 8, 2017 Share #43512 Posted December 8, 2017 What's not to love, even Henry would be happy. Contra jour, and contrail, plus flare. Perfect. Gary
Keith (M) Posted December 8, 2017 Share #43513 Posted December 8, 2017 Bronica ETRs - fun little camera :0 Shirley a contradiction in terms! Yesterday I picked a pretty beat up but still working Bronica ETRs body with few lenses for cheap 'ish. Fun little camera. Here with its 75mm 2.8 and FujiAcros film. How do the results compare with those from using a more standard rating, Chris? Worth the loss of speed? Bateleur Posted December 8, 2017 Share #43514 Posted December 8, 2017 <snip> Thank you Charles. Fotografiska is right on the water and is a really nice museum, even though I don't always agree with which exhibitions they select or how they are set up within the museum's space. I wrote about that previously in this thread. A few years ago I arranged a meeting with one of the founders of the museum who told me that Fotografiska is meant to be a commercial enterprise and must so be in order to attract exhibitions. There has recently been a big debate in Sweden concerning the state's subsidising of public museums, which are basically free, which negatively affects private ones like Fotografiska particularly as some also put on photo exhibitions. Be that as it may, and I am on his side when it comes to free enterprise, I really did not like how they squished the important and truly heart-breaking exhibition by Magnus Wennman, Where the children sleep, in a little corner behind Martin Schoeller's massive portraits of celebrities. That made me sick. I'm with you on the down playing of the exhibition of Magnus Wennman. Is this the price we pay for free enterprise where commerce dictates? But back to film ... it was at Fotografiska that I saw my first Nick Brandt exhibition, a memorable and moving encounter with the man and his work.
A miller Posted December 8, 2017 Share #43515 Posted December 8, 2017 very impressive, Wayne. And those colors are quite interesting! Was mostly concerned with getting the small tree. Wind up being a bit amazed at how well the camera/lens/film handled the shadows. The TIFF is tack sharp. img292c.JPG Agfa Amibi-Solette, Color Ambion 35mm 4.0, Fuji Superia 100 OMG - I'm selling mine for sure after seeing this! I'm (wild) guessing the film is portra 160? philipus Posted December 8, 2017 Share #43518 Posted December 8, 2017 Was it this exhibition? I love those three books of his. Such beautiful and also often very sad images. I'm with you on the down playing of the exhibition of Magnus Wennman. Is this the price we pay for free enterprise where commerce dictates? But back to film ... it was at Fotografiska that I saw my first Nick Brandt exhibition, a memorable and moving encounter with the man and his work. Yes it's an absolute rubbish lens It was actually Fuji Pro 160S exposed at EI80. OMG - I'm selling mine for sure after seeing this! I'm (wild) guessing the film is portra 160?
