I have to say that I agree with Jean-Marc and would only add that if there were no way of digitizing our beloved films we wouldn't have been able to enjoy more than four years of truly awesome film photography in this thread.

It is a testament to the strength and vivacity of film that this thread, for which at least I am eternally grateful to Henry for having begun, keeps being the most active thread in the forum.

I just hope it doesn't deteriorate further into an unfortunate debate about principles and purported 'truths'. For that there are plenty of other threads to visit.

Less matter, more art :)

Being recurrently driven into the cons of digital is irrelevant in a film only thread  .

Let's move on with digitized film pictures. Let them speak for themselves :) This one was shot on a Tuesday, no visits on Tuesdays, unfortunately...

The M240 is has a full frame sensor, so my setup might not work. Not having the Beoon I had to buy the helicoid for focusing. I bought a Kecay M42 17mm-31mm helicoid from the Italian site of a note online store ... not sure I can link it here, I'll send you a pm. I see it is available in the UK website too. 17mm-31mm seems to work fine with a cropped sensor. A FF sensor might need something else. The trick of course is finding the right combination between focusing ring and camera distance from the film. I usually focus with live view using a negative with letters

Not all the negatives are flat, I use weights on the sides of each frame. If you look at the first picture you can see two AA batteries taped together on the light board: I use two of those and it kind of works to keep the film flat. Sometimes I keep a big book on them for a few hours. By the way that is a problem also with my V600 flat scanner.

I’m pretty new to this. For now this method works for me or at least it gives results that are usually better than the V600.

Thanks Antonio, I have performed many tests with various tube lengths so I'll calculate the appropriate intermediate length and select accordingly.
