A "purist" in film , no conversion color > b&w

dont need another digital step to convert by photo software

It's the b&w for me Henry - I think it has to do with the composition; not so complicated as the colour shot - in the b&w we have the top, the left, the right, and then the group at the bottom - none of them overpowering, just nicely balanced.

Finally got around to more developing and printing. :)

These are both Lomo 400 film shot with Olympus Trip 35, developed in Jobo CPE-2 at 100f and printed in a Jobo tube on a Unicolor roller base at 8x10.

Picture #1 is the fog in the morning on the way to work.

Picture #2 is me on the 4th of July this year.

This is certainly a spectacular photograph. I don't think the exposure could be any better. If it didn't really look that way, it should have. :)

That bit of lightning, lower left, on the floor really is spectacular.

Best,

Wayne

Wayne - thanks so much for those kind comments.  And I am so pleased that you like that bit on the lower left - it's one of the parts of the pic that, for some reason, holds my attention also. At the time I took the shot I used the Voigtlander II meter on the M4.  I took readings (if you could call it that  it wasn't as if I had a Pentax Spotmeter in my pocket! ) from the stained glass window, the wood on the staircase bannister, and then the chequerboard floor where the light fell - then i 'averaged' them out.  What that means is that I took a guess and prayed like hell ...

I love the fog shot for the definition in the foreground - but Man, that selfie takes the cake!  You look like a fun guy.

You were in a church after all ... So the praying helped :)

beautiful, rich B&W Henry.  Thanks for showing what it should look like.

Dan I found the same picture , taken at the same time ,because I want to compare

b&w with color with no conversion.  I'll crop and show you the difference

I post again for Dan the color version :)

Leica M7-Kodak Portra 160-35 Summilux Asph

Just to compare when converting color  > b&w , you lose or not details

specially in the shadows ... and in addition , when you convert you need

another step of one digitalization (LR or SE) ....

Finally I am right to have 2 cameras one for color and one for b&w :)

Thanks for your comment Dan ...do you like now black version or both ?

Best

Henry

Beautiful lilies in black :)

I just want to say you , R9 is great for portrait , landscape and macrophotos with

good Leica lens like your 90mm , it's the must ... and easier to focus in comparison

Great Wall of China at Mitianyu. This is a part of the Great Wall that has been restored. It is not the most popular site for visitors to Beijing, but is well worth the small extra drive.

Michel splendid picture Contrast and black and white tones are great

Thank you

Henry
