Certainly, my Optik Divide piece has a 3-D element to it, and I even viewed it with a Zeiss Aerotopograph, though it's not 3-D. This is something I want to explore with color fields. I am going to sneak not taking any meds Nurse Ratched prescribes and see what comes of it in 3-D color fields. Thank you so much for sharing your narrative perspectives. Thank you Rog for your inspiring answer. I wonder if people, who did not experience the evolution of photography from b/w to color also think of past things and passed people in b/w. Learned neuro-psychological phenomenon or hard-wired ? I don't know-but color seems to be the paradigm of "now" and b/w of "then". I remember the shock of seeing the first WW1 color-pictures..blue skies over gray coats, rosy cheeks and brown trenches. . And yes, Kafka for me is black and white too.. Popular Post christoph_d Posted July 30, 2019 Popular Post Share #62232 Posted July 30, 2019 After having seen several examples of pictures taken with the - new to me - Kodak ProImage 100 colour negative film, I recently purchased a box of 5 and used them on a long weekend trip down at the seaside in Saint Malo. I thought I show you the result as the film is clearly less costly than Portra or Ektar. Overall it is a very capable film. Using Lightroom it is easily adjustable and it reproduces colour almost as nicely as Portra does, perhaps not quite as nicely balanced. At times it seems to show more grain than Portra, but overall I like it a lot. The "vacation picture" I posted above shows the colours at sunset. Here I think Portra would have given a more balanced view, whereas ProImage tends to go to the poster-approach; but then that may also have to do with my pp. The picture below shows a view out on the beach in the morning hours. The soft colours of the morning are well captured, and the image also captures some of the details hidden in the shadows of the room. Welcome, dear visitor! This shows one of the machine gun emplacements at the bunker complex of Cite d'Alet, overlooking Saint Malo. Marks left by Allied shells that hit the structure testify to the heavy fighting taking place there in WW2. (For those interested, the photographer Lee Miller photographed and wrote about this at the time; as described in the book "Lee Miller's War".) To me the film did an excellent job at capturing the structure and colour of the metal. Also, grain is not an issue here. Welcome, dear visitor! In my experience soft lit lighting situations seem to suit it more - as shown in the image below - but that's probably true for most films.
