stray cat Posted July 26, 2019 Share #62101 Posted July 26, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Wow Xícara that print is magnificent! I know it wasn't your intention, and I hope you don't mind my saying, but it constitutes an object lesson in showing that there can be a world of difference between a more pedestrian shot and a picture that has been crafted to convey drama, mystery and intrigue - keeping in mind that both have in common the same subject material. Incredible work. 1

Xícara de Café Posted July 26, 2019 Share #62104 Posted July 26, 2019 Thanks very much Phil! Took the black and white around Christmas time a year and half ago. Was having a drink with my wife at a pousada next door. The christmas decorations/lights of the pousada had been extended to cover the church and as darkness descended, it was time to get off my chair and take a photo. It's the wet season in December, so dramatic clouds. The colour photo was taken the other week. Dry season, no clouds. A pretty blue but boring in B&W! All the best!

I may have shot that same underpass in 2012 but didn't manage to catch that glorious golden light that you so nicely shot. What do you think, is it the same one? I didn't realise it's the biking capital of Germany but I can definitely believe it. Popular Post Kl@usW. Posted July 26, 2019 Popular Post Share #62116 Posted July 26, 2019 Capri may be the epitome of a touristic cliché--I love it anyway and if you don't try to be something else than just a tourist it´s a pleasant place. And on a hot day, just recline and enjoy the vista, the smell, the sound--it´s like a real time Fellini movie. Welcome, dear visitor! Popular Post Sparkassenkunde Posted July 26, 2019 Popular Post Share #62120 Posted July 26, 2019 This rather experimental shot was done in Croatia. As you can see it is quite difficult to frame with a totally black view finder. I tried to have Polaris in frame but this simply didn't work out. I exposed for about 1 hour and when I came back to the camera I had to see that the front lens was fogged and I was really curious, if there would be something on the emulsion. The picture was post processed in Lightroom to show a more or less black sky. The scan came out with a rather brownish background: Welcome, dear visitor!
