01af Posted May 31, 2013 Share #2 Posted May 31, 2013 No, I won't "sign up" for anything, even when it's "free" And you should at least get the camera's official name right.
Overgaard Posted May 31, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted May 31, 2013 That's fair enough 01af. I have newsletters I hate to get and others I appreciate. I hope those who get mine appreciate the information, and having a newsletter and a mailing list allow me to send out proactive to those who want that information. The articles are still for free for everyone. Just this time I decided to give the 'subscribers' some days to be the first to know.
dwbell Posted May 31, 2013 Share #4 Posted May 31, 2013 I'll wait for the link. I appreciate your effort, and do enjoy reading your opinions, but man have I got enough crap filling my inbox already. You see if I let you go that route, you'll go from being 'interesting Leica related article guy" to "another annoying spammer". And I'd not want that to happen.
01af Posted May 31, 2013 Share #5 Posted May 31, 2013 And I'd not want that to happen. Of the two of us, you're the better diplomat

South Bird Posted June 1, 2013 Share #13 Posted June 1, 2013 I thought the premise of the article that the measure of the camera for an a photographer is more about how the user interacts with it rather than a technical dissertation on the specifications was insightful. I found the review quite helpful and look forward to more.

gpwhite Posted June 2, 2013 Share #20 Posted June 2, 2013 Thorsten, I took the plunge and passed along my e-mail to your web-bot... your article is delightful and certainly captured my (amateur) sentiments precisely. I sold my M9 to my dealer rather quickly after fully adopting my new M240. And I do not like EVF, except for its practicality with my 135 APO. I have a particular question for you about most of the images you include on your new M240 article. You use the Noctilux very well, and I am impressed by its apparent smoothness over the 50 SX ASPH. Are all, or almost all, of your posted Noctilux shots taken wide open? Case in point for me would a comparison of say your daughter in front of the Eiffel Tower or the absolutely exquisite wooden deck chair shot with fluid blue sea background vs. the Peter Karbe with lens notebook shot from 50 AA (which to me looks like f/2.8, given the spectacular crispness of both his spectacles and chin stuble). I traded my 50 SX ASPH in to fund my 50 AA. Although I am addicted to the qualities of the 50 AA, it does have a more structured bokeh, as you see in your Karbe shot. Your beautiful images with the Noctilux make me want to try one out, so I thought I would ask if your shots are wide open and any comments you might make versus 50 SX on M240? Thank you, and please come teach a class here in the US! Peter
