pauledell Posted May 28, 2013 Share #3 Posted May 28, 2013 Hank Indeed. I would spare him to a restful retirement. I'm not one for cockfighting but I guess that is part of the Philippine culture. Paul

Karl G Posted May 28, 2013 Share #5 Posted May 28, 2013 Beautiful bird. I know, I'm a flaming hypocrite. Chicken is one of my favorite foods but cockfighting makes me uneasy as well.
tmldds Posted May 29, 2013 Share #6 Posted May 29, 2013 Hank, beautiful shot of a very proud cock! I remember these cock fights growing up in Saigon.
fotografr Posted June 3, 2013 Share #7 Posted June 3, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'd give thumbs up to the cock and thumbs down to the guy who put him in the ring. I have little tolerance for people who get pleasure from watching animals tear each other apart. Beautiful images at any rate.
platypus Posted June 4, 2013 Share #8 Posted June 4, 2013 A cruel and disgusting blood sport, but these birds are bred specifically for it and would have no real reason to exist otherwise, they are natural born fighters. Sadly. This one doesn't look as beat up as one would expect after several bouts.
Hank Taylor Posted June 4, 2013 Author Share #9 Posted June 4, 2013 A cruel and disgusting blood sport, but these birds are bred specifically for it andwould have no real reason to exist otherwise, they are natural born fighters. Sadly. This one doesn't look as beat up as one would expect after several bouts. Contribute it to a good knock-out blow! Actually, this bird fought his last fight last year. his owner is saving him for breeding. I should have showed the other side of him so you could see where he has been stitched .
