Jon Pop Posted May 27, 2013 Share #1 Posted May 27, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm planning on getting an extension cord for my flash for use of the flash off-camera with my M9, but I also like to use a 28mm external finder which is in the hotshoe. What's the best solution, are there other cords that allow for this? Looking at the Nikon SC-28 it doesn't look like it, but I'd welcome advice. Apologies if there's already a ton of threads on this topic already. Cheers, Jon
Advertisement Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Hi Jon Pop, Take a look here M9 + External Finder + external flash question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ghoonk Posted May 28, 2013 Share #2 Posted May 28, 2013 The M9 already has 28mm framelines, so I don't usually use an external finder for it, hence no issues using it with wired or wireless triggers
Jon Pop Posted May 28, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted May 28, 2013 I know it has 28mm frame lines...as does my MP and the M6TTL I had for years before that. I'm not new to Leica M; but I wear glasses, the lines are at the far perimeter, and I also want the ability to see the composition thru a 28mm point of view. Same rationale as when I shoot 21mm.....where the finder is mandatory not optional....
Adonnan Posted May 29, 2013 Share #4 Posted May 29, 2013 Since there is no sync port, I don't see how you could have both. Unless there is a hotshoe spacer that adds a sync port. I made that up
