R4+Motorwinder R4+Grip --> "Peeep" before shooting

Dear Leica Friends, recently aquired a R4 with motor winder R4 and mechanical grip. After mounting the gear I focused and pressed the mechanic button of the grip, continuous peep sounds prior to shooting. It´s annoying!

Could not find any hint in the manuals of the motor winder nor of the camera.

Does anyone know how to get rid of this sound? - would be great!!!

If it's a mechanical peeep then I would sugest some lubricant in the appropriate places.

But judging by your descriptopn I'm guessing its electronic. They're normally very reliable... FWIW.

 

Not sure how to fix that.

Hi!

 

There is nothing wrong with the winder! The beep is the warning signal for double exposure. just set the little lever under the winder to position 1 and it should work normal again.

Torsten, never tried the double exposure switch on mine so never heard a beep...this is really good information.
