ian moore Posted May 21, 2013 Share #1 Posted May 21, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) This may be an odd question but I use a range of B&W filters (polarisers and soft focus, etc). I find it very difficult to clean them. I have bought B&W lens cleaner spray and also their microfibre cloth for lens cleaning. However I find that this leaves smears on the filters or streaks. Any advice would be helpful. Many thanks.

I had the same problem, even messed up a lens with that stuff - lens cleaner spray. In my desperation I used "smear away", got rid of all those smears. Next I will try 99% wood alcohol. That should leave no smear. And it's locally available and inexpensive.
TomB_tx Posted May 21, 2013 Share #3 Posted May 21, 2013 The Zeiss lens cleaning tissues come packaged individually in an alcohol cleaner. I've had good results with them.

kokoshawnuff Posted May 25, 2013 Share #7 Posted May 25, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) The only spray I've had luck with on the MRC filters is Purosol lens cleaner. I only use the spray when a clean microfiber cloth doesn't do the job.
