Guest tanks Posted May 22, 2013 Share #21  Posted May 22, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) It depends. ...24 and 35 are idea for travel and the 50 is surprisingly versatile.  The picture below was taken with a 50mm with an M8 (UV/IR filter) at f/13. I couldn't get close to the cows, so ended up cropping a bit at the bottom. I don't know which version I like more. However, I do like the 50mm for some landscape shots. Welcome, dear visitor! Photoskeptic Posted May 23, 2013 Share #23 Â Posted May 23, 2013 I have a 24 Elmar-M which I bought in anticipation of a Monochrom. Seriously an incredible lens on my M8.2. Can't wait for FF. OTOH, mostly for landscape I use a D800 with Zeiss 21 and 85 1.4G for stitching, but am taking a European trip in the fall and intend to take only Leica (for compactness if nothing else). honcho Posted May 23, 2013 Share #24 Â Posted May 23, 2013 In case you're visiting Ireland, make sure to bring a macro lens. It's a small country. Â Well, I am currently photographing the Irish landscape in Co Clare. Can't say I have much need of a macro lens and so far this week I haven't needed an umbrella, either. Â There is no such thing as a 'landscape lens'. If there was, I'd be driving a bigger car.
