Advertisement Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Hi Doc Henry, Take a look here Mont Saint Michel. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Michael Hiles Posted May 16, 2013 Share #2 Posted May 16, 2013 Lovely picture. The weather helps! This is a wonderful perspective, with the monastery isolated and emerging from the field. Chartres can be approached from the surrounding fields, and the same way, as you approach, the cathedral rises from the field. Just wonderful. stunsworth Posted May 16, 2013 Share #3 Posted May 16, 2013 Nice photograph. The only way to approach Mont St Michel these days appears to be on a shuttle bus from a park and ride car park.

Michael thank you for watching the picture and post a comment I took a road to the west of Mont Saint Michel, The weather was almost stormy and I was walking to get closer to the Mont. After there's the shifting sands and the risk of rising tide The landscape was very beautiful after 40 minutes of walking, it is completely clear with nothing around Henry
Doc Henry Posted May 16, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted May 16, 2013 Nice photograph. The only way to approach Mont St Michel these days appears to be on a shuttle bus from a park and ride car park. Thank you for watching and for your nice comments Yes Steve , the shuttle is good but it takes a long time and it's expensive parking ! before 1990, people arrive just down the Mont Saint Michel The latest news is, it will be changed so that people are no longer waiting. There is a political problem and profit because it was decided to favor private friend of former french President. Henry

There is a political problem and profit because it was decided to favor private friend of former french President. Henry I was in the area last week with some friends. We were going to go to MSM, but changed our minds when we saw that there was a park and ride scheme - to be fair we'd all been there before. The last time, I parked by the causeway and stayed at a hotel on MSM itself. It seems there are 10 buses an hour and each bus holds up to 100 people. I can't see that being enough, and I dread to think what the waiting times would be in the high season.

Steve, The waiting time is about 20 to 30 minutes in high season , so is too long and people complain in the heat,so I think it is poorly organized Regards Henry

These last two pictures are taken with Apo Telyt 135 mm and M9 Thanks for looking Henry Welcome, dear visitor! Schlemmer Posted May 17, 2013 Share #19 Posted May 17, 2013 Merci Henry - Your photos awaken in me a longing for one of my favorite places in the world. I dream of the change of flood to low tide in the evening light.
Doc Henry Posted May 18, 2013 Author Share #20 Posted May 18, 2013 (edited) Merci Henry - Your photos awaken in me a longing for one of my favorite places in the world. I dream of the change of flood to low tide in the evening light. Hi Guenther, thank you for your comments For you I'll post two pictures: -the first where you can not see water in the bay, with the Mont Saint Michel in background Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! -the second, in b&w for Ingrid where the water begins to rise and move towards the coast (where I take this picture , 3 hours after the first picture with the rising tide) That is impressive because sea water rises very quickly, advanced 1, 5 meters per second so quickly, and it is not advised to stay there because the water rises high there is also quicksand an idea of the rising waters in this video: Regards For these two pictures M8 Apo Summicron 90 asph 90 because I'm afraid that the water comes over me !
