Michael Hiles Posted May 14, 2013 Share #2 Posted May 14, 2013 Good picture. Nice long tones. London has made a mistake (in my view) that Paris has avoided. In Paris, all the modern offices are out together in La Defense, while classic Paris remains largely intact. Had I been consulted... the Shard and the Gherkin etc would have been built somewhere else. Just for the record, I was not consulted.
Keith (M) Posted May 14, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted May 14, 2013 Thank you, Michael. London has made a mistake (in my view) that Paris has avoided. In Paris, all the modern offices are out together in La Defense, while classic Paris remains largely intact. Had I been consulted... the Shard and the Gherkin etc would have been built somewhere else. Just for the record, I was not consulted. Indeed. As my wife and I strolled along the South Bank yesterday, I commented that the difference (architecturaly-speaking) between central London and Paris is Baron Hausmann...
pauledell Posted May 14, 2013 Share #4 Posted May 14, 2013 Excellent composition, lovely tones, beautiful clouds and crisp clarity. Paul
stuny Posted May 14, 2013 Share #5 Posted May 14, 2013 Quite lovely, but I suspect it would be stronger still shot to include the base of Southwark. A wider lens? Further back?
Karl G Posted May 14, 2013 Share #6 Posted May 14, 2013 Have to agree, it is a pretty discordant juxtaposition. Lovely toning in your image.
