satureyes Posted May 10, 2013 Share #1 Posted May 10, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Calling anyone who owns this lens...please can you check something or me.. If you hold the lens horizontal and the lens hood in your left hand and the rear of the lens in your right..hold your left hand firm and gently rotate the rear back and forth.. Is there a tiny amount of play in the lens. Prob about 1mm? Appreciate if you could let me know. Thanks, Rick

Walt Calahan Posted May 11, 2013 Share #6 Posted May 11, 2013 Glad you posted the video, because I was going to ask which model 12mm. I have the older model and nothing moves like what I see in your video. If the lens came that way right out of the box I'd say return it for one that doesn't wiggle, or have them fix it. tobey bilek Posted May 11, 2013 Share #7 Posted May 11, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) CV quality control and why I will not buy their stuff. I have had crooked frame lines in a 75 mm finder. Leica never made one. Was replaced after much hassle and now pics are straight. Nice finder if you get a good one. 12 mm loosened repeatedly and focus would bind. Blue locktight. 15 mm off position on rotation. I had to disassemble it and remount the mount in adjustment holes provided. 25 mm was not used much untill I THE M9. Corners are soft, more one one side than another indicating de centering. Bin candidate one of these days. I would never sell this dog. And that is all I ever bought. They cut too many corners for me. This taints the Zeiss ZM also. plewislambert Posted May 11, 2013 Share #8 Posted May 11, 2013 Does an M9 show edge vignetting with a non-defective 25mm CV? Philip:eek:

k_g_wolf ✝ Posted May 11, 2013 Share #10 Posted May 11, 2013 My 15mm-HELIAR moved/ moves a bit like this, from day one on when I bought it. Should have returned it, but hesitated. It´s still there and didn´t get worse, but I don´t feel comfortable about it. Since I added the WATE, I don´t use it anymore ... Best GEORG
honcho Posted May 11, 2013 Share #11 Posted May 11, 2013 I made a quick 10 second clip to explain what I mean. I would not be happy with that and would send it back for replacement or refund. I have the earlier version and there is no movement. I'm not really a fan of CV stuff, but the 12mm is one of my favourite lenses on my MP.
tobey bilek Posted May 11, 2013 Share #12 Posted May 11, 2013 Does an M9 show edge vignetting with a non-defective 25mm CV?Philip:eek: I manually set the code to something, and vignetting and colored corners were not the issue. I did quite a bit of film IR work with it and never noticed anything wrong. With digi, you go looking for problems.
