Long lens advice needed

But with a long lens I think I really like to have some more outspoken character.

I really hate talking about character in a lens, but this is the only way to explain. Basically its only about if the pictures speak to me or not. :)

If it comes to "character" the 3-element 90mm Elmar might be worth to be considered.

It is almost unbeatable for small size and low weight, 39mm filters, not too sharp so it stays in the "vintage" class but much sharper than the old 90mm Elmar with four elements - the difference is not just gradual but a big leap forward. The way it renders is just unique. Its only disadvantage might be the rotating front element when you focus it, so that you unwillingly could change the focus when you change the f-stops.

Since they didn't produce many of them its now a rather rare lens, so prices are considerably higher than for its precedessor with 4-elements. Though compared with other 90mm on the second hand market prices are normally fair.

If there was a wish list for lenses Leica might edit anew once (100 years Leica could be an opportunity...) the 3-Element Elmar would be on top of mine. Unfortunately Leica denied that they would think about something like this in the future...:(
