Hi

i have experience with my lens, happen on 50 Lux Asph and Nokton 40/1.4.

the body is M8, i took picture say with f/2 but after i transfer to lightroom it shows f/4.

same thing also happen when i shoot airplane wings in the night, it should be f/1.4 but again after exported to lightroom reported as f/4.

where the problem actually, but when is shoot in daylight. aperture always correct

regards

The digital Ms only guess the aperture as there is no way for the lens to pass true information to the body. In low light, it seems to be a less accurate guess, via the blue sensor on the front of the top plate.

I'm sure there is a FAQ in the sticky thread at the top of this sub-forum.

If Leica actually started incorporating the electronics in the M lens to convey the aperature readings, we would end up with a much larger lens physically. I prefer the current alalog version. While it is nice to know the aperature, it really serves no purpose. Some folks like a lot of data. I like my 135 coded but it really serves no purpose.
