MichaelToye Posted April 30, 2013 Share #1 Posted April 30, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) This boy ran once through the water jets - I was just lucky to be in the right place. I still screwed up the composition, but it's not all lost. Does anyone agree? RUN! by michael_toye, on Flickr Michael

pauledell Posted April 30, 2013 Share #2 Posted April 30, 2013 Michael, A delightful shot with excellent composition, tones and clarity. This reminds me of a famous picture of the man jumping over a puddle taken by HCB. My suggestion about composition would be to crop the bottom of the picture up to the drains where the bricks change direction. Paul
Karl G Posted April 30, 2013 Share #3 Posted April 30, 2013 (edited) Transitive and ephemeral moments captured can not be assigned to standard rules of composition that are applied to more static scenes. This is a fine image. I am not in disagreement with Paul's advice but stating the rules of composition are more just guidelines IMO. After reviewing your picture I reduced the size appearing on my screen so I didn't have to scroll to see the whole image, I can see that your version offers more depth probably what you intended it to be.
