nicks500 Posted April 27, 2013 Share #1 Posted April 27, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Apple have released another digital camera raw compatibility update and still no native support for the MM in OS X or Aperture, not that im ever using Aperture again(since I received a free copy of LR). I think it is really lagging behind in the LR/Aperture race so much so that I think it should be either retired or taken out the back and shot! Dont get me wrong I dont think Microsoft are doing any better are they?

BrendanD Posted April 30, 2013 Share #2 Posted April 30, 2013 Its a shame... I just dont 'get on' with LR and simply do basic conversions to TIFF and import into Aperture.. One day one day... btw. I dont see in what way Aperture lags.. Using it with Viveza and SEP plug ins the only thing I can't do is perspective corrections and that I want about once every 2 years... Apple is working on MM support. They usually get on hold of the camera to have the sensor profiled. MM was not an easy camera to find a while back. I know this is no longer an issue to Apple and support should come out soon, hopefully on the next RAW compatibility update. They also took a long time to support the Xtras Fuji sensor (also non-bayer), but it seems they got it right. Seems to be as good, if not better than the rendering by adobe raw/lightroom. If Apple could make the editing of MM as good or even better than LR, it will be well worth the wait. Currently I am shooting RAW+DNG and using JPG as the original. Quite impressed with the JPGs out of the MM after a few adjustment or Silver Effex 2 processing. Once the DNG is supported, just have to use DNG as original and further process the images if needed.
