Good thing I take this route home daily, b/c my 50mm just didn't cut it in terms of capturing the sweeping curve of the red beams on the right side. Next time I'll try my 35mm, which is as wide as it gets for me. :)

Thanks to all who have posted for your kind feedback.

 

Stuart - given your affinity for the Chrysler Building, i most certainly had you in mind as i was parked off to the side of the ramp adjacent to the UN (which starts with the trees on the far right) while sucking in pebble shrapnel from the street as cars whizzed by and hoping that i wouldnt get shot by any snipers from the UN security team thinking that i might be on some kind of mischievous reconnaissance mission.

 

I didn't use the bulb mode per se but rather shot in aperture priority at 160 ISO to minimize noise. I believe the shutter speed was 10 seconds or so, but i dont recall exactly.
