Stein K S Posted April 23, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted April 23, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just wondering; have a 90 2,8 last version front focusing (35-40mm on the meter... and to me this being too much). Read about "CLA", but do not know what it is... Looks though, to be a total make-over. Would a focus adjustment require a full CLA or would focus adjustment be simplier (read; cheaper...). My lens is pretty much " out of the box" and bought new by myself and would have figured that it should be ok... Â By the way... CLA... what does it stand for? Â From a guy quite new to this forum... but about to get " addicted" Â Stein

rob_w Posted April 25, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted April 25, 2013 Leica are very good at adjusting lenses and camera rangefinders to be spot on. I delayed getting it done for some time -- the discrepancies were minor -- but was so pleased when I finally got around to it. If your lens is under warranty you should find Leica will adjust it without charge.

While the lens is not under warranty, it is basically unused... and therefore I initially found full CLA and 520,- euros to be "too much", but I guess there are no "in-between" service to get the focus right... the cost of enjoying the best camera ever I guess. pfhrased Posted May 25, 2013 Share #5 Â Posted May 25, 2013 I didn't regret getting a CLA for my 75 summilux one bit. Price yes - but focus was dead on, the focus ring was smoother, and I got them to 6bit code while I was at it.
