I have been using the 50 APO-Summicron-Asph with the M, and find that the resolving power of the camera and lens combined is, to my eye, astonishing. I'm going to post two photos. The first is of a woman painting at the side of the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C. on the day the cherry blossoms peaked. I focused on the woman's painting, and was standing perhaps three meters behind her.

The second image is a 100% crop of the painting itself. Not sure how this will work on a website, but on my computer screen, I can see the very strokes of the paint. This was using the rangefinder. Again, to my eye, a really impressive combo.

Quite impressive indeed. You nailed the exposure perfectly, which I think contributes to the impression of great clarity of the picture. It would be interesting to see the same picture taken with the Summilux and the same exposure to see the differences, if any.

Lou - cant remember what I used for neutral grey. I always forget to bring along a grey card! I've found white balance with the M to be less of an issue than others have, or I should say I've found auto to be decent enough. And yeah, loving the combination. I'll post another image, just to show how great the combo can be in other ways.

Completely different look. But as an example of how versatile this lens can be with the M, this was taken maybe 30 minutes earlier. With an ND filter, shot at f/4, which because of the filter, registers with LR as having been shot at f/6.8.

I should explain something about the processing, so those alarmed by the colors have a better understanding of what is going on.

On the original photo, after processing in LR4, I used Nik Viveza to offer more structure and a little contrast to the painting, in order to draw it out. This may also have the effect of intensifying the colors.

On the photo of the little girl, yes, that dress was so cool, that after processing in LR, I exported it to Nik Color Efex Pro 4, and used one of the Fuji presets -- likely not Velvia, but a preset that gives it a "film-like" color effect.

Rest assured, the image out of LR has less intense colors.
