HowardP Posted April 15, 2013 Share #1 Posted April 15, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello all, I'm finding a distinct difference in the images from the D-Lux 6 display vs. the same images when on the computer monitor. When I import the images onto my computer (desktop or laptop), the color rendering isn't as rich as I'm accustomed to seeing. I'm having a much harder time getting a perfect focus with the camera, and many images are slightly blurred. Some are over-exposed, but didn't appear so on the camera display. With indoor lighting (in a store, for example), the images are pretty noisy. With processing, I can save a number of them, but am having to delete quite a few, and far more than I did with my D-Lux 5. The white balance is inaccurate as well, even though it appears on the camera screen like I've selected correctly. Any thoughts? Is there a calibration for the camera? Do I perhaps have it set to something I shouldn't? An SD card issue? I'm obviously quite puzzled. Thank you very much for your input.

Karl G Posted April 15, 2013 Share #2 Posted April 15, 2013 I suspect it has something to do with your settings in the camera. I would start there and carefully go through your settings. It certainly works as well as the D-Lux 5 and is actually better. I use mine as a pocket camera but usually shoot all in raw mode.
ockock Posted April 16, 2013 Share #3 Posted April 16, 2013 To avoid over-/underexposure: Use Histogram while shooting. Not a special D-Lux 6 feature. Change display property settings in camera. Color-Calibrate monitor on PC. Use additional viewer on D-Lux 6 to have a second monitor to check your photos. I use this more often than the back monitor, because there is no effect of affecting the colors and brightness through sunligt and so on. Is white balance set to automatic WB? Works well on my D-Lux 6. Alternativ is to shoot RAW and use a grey card.
