dkCambridgeshire Posted April 13, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted April 13, 2013 This is another version of the same orchid flower head taken with my Leica X1 fitted with one Elpro VIb supplementary close-up lens. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! ISO 1600 1/40second f16 ... a higher ISO setting than planned ... with +1 EV exposure compensation. And this is the lighting setup ... no sunshine today so used a 40cm diameter Cobra 'daylight' light box to backlight the flower heads plus polystyrene reflector on RHS and a small Jessops 'daylight' light box handheld on LHS to provide frontal fill in light. The modified Elpro VI close-up lens was screwed into a Kood filter adaptor after removing the X1 lens bezel. A custom white balance was taken directly from the Cobra light box. pauledell Posted April 14, 2013 Share #6 Posted April 14, 2013 Gorgeous shots. I can't distinguish any difference in sharpness between the two but I personally like the subtle colors more. Paul
