colint544 Posted April 12, 2013 Share #2 Posted April 12, 2013 I'm currently loving the drawing characteristics of the 28mm Summicron ASPH on my MM. It has the crispness of a modern lens but the smooth transitions and rendering of an old lens. The Monochrom seems to make pretty much any lens sing, though. Here are a couple of shots I took in Glasgow in the last week. MM and 28 Summicron ASPH: Welcome, dear visitor! Guest borge Posted April 12, 2013 Share #3 Posted April 12, 2013 Well I haven't had the opprtunity to use many lenses on my MM but I love the Summilux 1.4/50 ASPH and 1.4/35 ASPH FLE on it. I know there may be many lenses that sings on this camera, especially older lenses, but to be honest I can't be bothered to try every lens on the planet... I'm mainly interested in the images and the contents of the images, not the rolloff of highlights or small and barely noticeable differences in bokeh rendition or stuff like that. Jay B Posted April 13, 2013 Share #7 Posted April 13, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Pretty much any lens I've put on my Monochrom is my top favorite... It delivers stunning results no matter what lens, either vintage or latest, is stuck on the front.

Elsu Posted April 14, 2013 Share #13 Posted April 14, 2013 I only have 3 lenses Noctilux 095 Summicron 35 f2 ASPH Elmar ltm 50f3.5 The N095 is absolutely my first choice, even though it is rather heavy to take around. I mostly shoot wide at f/0.95, and if I manage to focus correctly, the image is simply stunning. However, I can imagine that I would use the Summicron 35 more once/if I sort out the lens/calibration issue. It has been very frustrating.

k_g_wolf ✝ Posted April 15, 2013 Share #17 Posted April 15, 2013 (edited) colint544 - Wow! Your photos on 500px / Colin Templeton / Photos are amazing. Who are you? Rick They are all presented as square formats, perhaps coming straight from the HASSEL-camera to the MM. Great photos indeed, thx for posting the link, Rick. Could we see some in future in the photosection round here as well, colint544 ? Regards GEORG --------------------------- Sorry, forgot about the lenses: Only had a loaner MM from the LEICA Academy last month. What I used most during these three days was my Tri-Elmar 28-35-50, a Voigt 35/ 1.2 and a 24 Elmarit. For about 80% of the shots it was the Tri-Elmar.
