NZDavid Posted April 9, 2013 Share #1 Posted April 9, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yikes! I uploaded the M9's SD card (San Disk 8GB) to the Mac, saved pics, and reinserted card. Got message on M9 LCD "reading data, please wait." I turned camera on and off, took out card, reinserted and LCD now blank. Did the battery need recharging? Recharged. Same thing. Message stayed on screen regardless of whether I turned camera on or off. Have taken out card and reinserted several times; saved pictures reappeared once or twice in Play mode but then the screen went blank again and the message came back. Help! I need this camera asap for work! Urgent advice appreciated! David

Guest roey Posted April 9, 2013 Share #2 Posted April 9, 2013 Try reformatting the card on your mac using Disk Utility. Make sure you have saved all of the images from the card on your mac before you do that.
NZDavid Posted April 9, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted April 9, 2013 Thanks for the tip but the mere act of posting on the forum seems to have fixed it! Settings and pictures reappeared on the camera and I then reformatted the card. Puzzling though. I think I should take several cards when traveling. jaapv Posted April 9, 2013 Share #4 Posted April 9, 2013 You probably interrupted the camera when working on the card and scrambling it, and it managed to pick it up again on a next restart. Personally I would reformat this card first in the computer and then do a full overwrite in the camera. Something similar to not ejecting a card properly when on your PC/MAC.
NZDavid Posted April 9, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted April 9, 2013 Thanks Jaap, I haven't reformatted a card on the Mac before, I'll have to find out how. I know the San Disks have given trouble with the M9 before so it may also be worth taking another SD card with me, any recommendations welcome. k-hawinkler Posted April 10, 2013 Share #8 Posted April 10, 2013 SD Formatter 4.0 for SD/SDHC/SDXC https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/ This version 4.0 actually recognizes and formats my SD card on Mac OS X 10.8.3. Version 3.1 didn't.
