malsop Posted April 8, 2013 Share #1 Posted April 8, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have the latest versions of the 90mm Summicron-M ASPH, the 75mm Summicron-M ASPH and the 50mm Summilux-M ASPH. On the 50mm and 75mm lenses the lens hood pulls out then rotates to lock in position. On the 90mm the hood does not want to rotate when pulled all the way out. I've applied enough pressure to know that the 90mm hood does not want to turn but not so much that I might damage whatever it is that is keeping it from turning. Is this a 'feature' of the 90mm Summicron?
Advertisement Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Hi malsop, Take a look here 90mm Summa Lens Hood doesn't Lock. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
UliWer Posted April 8, 2013 Share #2 Posted April 8, 2013 The hood does not turn. You either pull it out or not. There is no fixing point after turning it round like with the 50mm Summilux or the 75mm Summicron.
Chuck Albertson Posted April 10, 2013 Share #3 Posted April 10, 2013 I sometimes use a wide rubber band around the barrel of the lens, behind the hood, if I really want to keep it in place while shooting.
