Actually no issues at all. I was doing some post processing in PS on Sunday and I thought I had the banding issue but I had inadvertently zoomed 200% into the top of a mailbox that had a very even rib structuring. I must say that the detail was incredible. No banding, just user error.

I've had no banding. Occasionally, the camera locks up and I have had to remove the battery. It seems to be triggered if I chimp while buffer is full, so I don't chimp when red light is flashing. I use San Disk extreme and ultra extreme cards: 16gb and occasionally 8 gb. I don't shoot over 2500 iso, but I use iso 2500 a lot.

The camera is a lot of fun to use. I find myself pulling it out of the camera bag before the M9. The images it produces are great.

Banding at base iso when any shot is taken before the buffer is cleared. The banding is restricted to deep shadows. The workaround is to allow the buffer to clear.Other than that it is an extremely satisfying tool to work with.

1. Banding at base iso when any shot is taken before the buffer is cleared.

2. Can not delete several images at a time, the camera is continue to "run", and can only be stopped by taking out the battery and then put it in again.

Both problem fixed by changing to Transcend - 8 GB - Class10 - SDHC card

Very minor shadow banding in one or two shots. Frameline preselector lever fell off. For the rest flawless.

You just have an early M-240 Monochrom without the lever.

I only got to click the Thanks button once even though I have had 2 Monochroms

So, it it safe to assume a widespread belief that the majority of the issues are solvable by firmware?

Surely, It cant be the case that Leica wants us to track down archaic and esoteric memory cards to get full function from an eight thousand dollar camera...
